", and this is his story.

He has written and illustrated numerous popular books for children, including , a New York Times Best Illustrated Book; , an American Bookseller Pick of the Lists: and most recently , a selection of the Junior Library Guild. In 1996, he also Illustrated Audrey Wood's , a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year and an ABC Children's Bookseller' Choice award Winner. David Shannon lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Heidi, and their dog, Fergus.
