Citadel Executive Protection (CEP): New York City's top-rated security agency that hires and assigns only the best of the best for each case. Psychologist Quinn McDonnell runs a practice on the Upper West Side in Manhattan, NY, specializing in adolescents. Quinn's a no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is kind of woman who doesn't take a lot of crap from anybody. When she starts receiving threats from a man she believes is a former patient's brother, she finds herself entwined in an insidious web of deceit and betrayal. Seeking the help of CEP, she finds herself once again involved with the handsome and broody Gunner Murphy, a man she butted heads with in Unbreakable Hearts (CEP #2), a man with whom she's now engaged in a dance of steamy flirtation as neither wants to admit their true feelings for the other.
