The Fallen Forest

They say that the wind from one door closing opens another... But the winds of change have been blowing a gale through my life for so long now, Overlapping. Slamming. Being beaten down... being locked behind me... that I fear I've lost lost all sense of direction- I can't remember what doors opened when and I can't help but wonder if what I really need to do is turn around and go back the way I came. She says that everything I want is mine for the taking and yet everything I want keeps getting taken away from me and replaced with something else. I want to fight to hang onto the things I want, the dreams I've dreamed and the people I love, I do... but there's only so long I can hold onto something for before it turns to ash in my hands. Then again, I've tried letting go and it hasn't gotten me anywhere, so maybe now what i need to do is hold on, and pray that what I'm holding on to is strong enough to survive me.
