**Spoiler Alert**Do not read this quote if you have not read Defiance! “Markus!” Dean roared. The way he shouted my name was spine tingling. I had never been afraid of Dean quite like I was in that dreadful moment. Trying to keep my composure as I trembled out of complete fear, I turned slowly to face him. “Come closer.” Dean demanded. I hesitated. Dean was terrifying in beast form. His eyes resembled the red heat from erupted lava, emanating pure rage targeted directly at me. He flexed his ridiculous muscles against the chains that were keeping him from ripping my head off. The metal links grinded together as Dean grew bigger from the heat coursing through him. I stepped closer, careful not to be within his reach. “Closer.” Dean growled from deep within his chest. I leaned forward, keeping at a safe distance. “Closer.” Dean ordered with a menacing growl. I hesitated, not wanting to get dangerously close to him. I did something wrong. I betrayed him and I didn’t want to aggravate him any further. I let out a huff in defeat and got closer, until my face was in breathing range of his own.Without warning, Dean head budded me. I lost balance and fell against the concrete floor beneath me. The sharp pain in my face spread throughout my skull like some cracking effect upon impact. Warm trails of liquid trickled from my forehead, dripping onto my shirt. I pressed my forehead and brought myself back to my feet. “I’ll find you Markus.” Dean warned. I met eyes with his. I had never had his rage directed at me. I deserved it for what I had done, I couldn't deny that. My teeth chattered and I clenched them to make it look like I wasn't afraid. “I know you’ll find me.” I responded with a broken voice. “And it’s gonna be a world of hurt for you.” Dean promised with a deadly growl. The sound of his threat was a thing of nightmares. I silently gulped and brought my blood drenched hand back down from my forehead. I pressed my lips and nodded before turning my heel and leaving Dean to stew in his rage.
