Smoked in Ybor

It was another blustery cold day in Chicago in November 1891 when Madeline Donovan’s two friends, Jonathan and Hugh arrived at her doorstep in Goose Island. They came to request that she and her father travel with them to Ybor City, Florida. When trouble ensues when Jonathan Uncle moves there, he implores his nephew to come and his friend Hugh Scott, to come to Ybor as he will need the advice of a lawyer. Upon arrival in this city in its infancy, they find everyone is awaiting the arrival of Jose Marti who will speak about freeing Cuba from Spanish rule. They find the threats they face are real, and their work has just begun.
