Description

Detective Karen Parks has finally gotten the chance to close a pair of ten-year-old murder cases. These cases had troubled her for years, because the killer had laughed in her face and walked off scot-free. Now, though, when his daughter came forward to admit that, at ten years old, she had seen him kill her mother and sister, Karen finally had her chance. All she had to do was find him, and at last she got a tip telling her where he was staying. When she got to his apartment, though, she found him already dead, the victim of three gunshots. Unfortunately, those shots came from her own gun, which had been stolen from her only minutes before. With witnesses screaming that she killed him and the fact that her own gun was found to be the murder weapon, Karen did the only thing she could do. She ran, straight to Sam Prichard. Now Karen is sitting in jail on a charge of first-degree murder, and Sam has to find proof that she is innocent, but things go from bad to worse. The victim wasn't the killer she was hunting after all, but an undercover FBI agent who bore a striking resemblance to him. The DA says Karen is still guilty of murder, despite the mistaken identity of the victim, but Sam is out to prove differently. All he has to do is find the real killer and the intended victim, who might be one and the same. And he has to do it before the killer can murder his own daughter and Sam's family.
