The Legacy

One hot summer afternoon Nigel Swannell is distracted from his regular afternoon stroll by a swarm of flies over the thick gorse. Further investigation reveals a headless, handless corpse...and Detective Chief Inspector Hennessey and Sergeant Yellich are soon on the case. The Victim's family turns out to have been in line for a considerable inheritance from his acid-tongued and exceptionally wealthy mother, Mrs Tansey, and as the investigation progresses it appears that the victim's estranged wife, his business partner and his disapproving mother all have their own secrets to hide.
