Recovering alcoholic Bruce's best friend Jimmy runs out of money just when his girlfriend Barbara is thinking wedding and a baby. Jimmy and Bruce end up in Debtors Anonymous. When Jimmy's DA sponsor gets murdered in Starbucks, Barbara can't wait to start investigating, while Bruce has to find a murderer while convincing his cop girlfriend Cindy that seeing him won't kill her detective career.
