Jo Lark and Effie are young thieves living in London’s grim Victorian East-End. When two of their friends disappear, Jo finds a mysterious scroll that has been secretly placed in his pocket. On the scroll is a riddle. A riddle that sets the pair off on a dangerous quest that takes them all over the city, encountering many strange and brutal characters along the way. Who is behind the riddles? What are they for? And more importantly, could they lead to their missing friends?
