Secret Life, with Cats

After her marriage drifts into unhappiness, Beatrice volunteers at a cat shelter in Rogers Park, where she meets -- and befriends -- the mysterious Ruth. Then Ruth dies, and leaves her house to Beatrice, who moves in. Mysterious things start to happen, including a cat that leads Beatrice into a secret, subterranean room.
